Annual Planning Meeting June 20, 2018
Minutes
Attendees: Amy Szarek, Chris Hart, Jennifer Hart, Jennifer MacNeil, Rick Delacono, Dawnielle Holloran, Laura Clark, Kristi Denley, Chris Schramko, Jim Quinnan, Vicki Kronoff (and Sheri Breth at the end)
Thanks to Chris and Jennifer for hosting the potluck. It was very enjoyable!
Non-planning discussions:
- Training, particularly YPT and BALOO.
- All leaders must complete the new YPT training by October.
- The pack can use more BALOO training to support the camping that this pack seems to want.
- Position-specific training may also be helpful.
- T-shirts: Jim to follow up with Jen MacNeil
- Other activities considered but not planned for this year: Battleship Cove, Egg Drop, Joppa Flats
- Leader meetings 3rd Monday at 7pm

January 28 meeting:
- Sledding was a success. (I’ll send more on that later.)
- Charter is complete! (Thanks Pastor Chris.)
- Derby (I’ll send more on the planning later. For now, I’m just listing items still open.)
o Patches—we thought we had them, but it turned out we did not have enough. Is anybody getting more? I can pick them up next Monday at Round Table if we want to order them and that is soon enough.
o Trophies—we decided 1st and 2nd for each den, but found it a little awkward to name District Derby alternates and not have a trophy for 3rd. Also, we did the Pack Championship but did not have awards for that. Do we need more for this year?
o District Info—this is attached. Pastor Chris will send the den 1st/2nd/alternate info soon. Then we should make sure the information is distributed.
- Crossover
o Agreed to run it as an AoL ceremony. No concurrent pack meeting (I’m pretty sure) and no Blue and Gold.
o 4pm on 24-March.
o We have no other agenda info yet.
- Fund raiser
o I think the attached doc reflects the info we need for the flyer. Can we print 40 copies (or whatever is needed) at the church?
o Can den leaders distribute at their next meeting?
- April 28 (please confirm date) Base Camp Woburn
o Decided to also try to hold a Blue and Gold dinner and pack meeting with awards at this event. (will this be too long of a day?)
o In place of Camp Sayre Hike.
o My main concern is that this is a long day and we need to get word out as soon as possible so parents can plan.
o We should start a separate email thread on this topic because I think there are a lot of details to work out.
December 12, 2017
- Meeting moved due to holiday
- Next Event,
- Moved to Vesey Park
- Plan seem set. Jennifer will make a trip to the Scout Shop this week for awards
- Battleship Cove may not work due as signup may have closed. Alternate plan may be sledding in Amesbury. Rick will advise us as soon as he knows.
- Jim Quinnan was introduced as our new Cubmaster. Contact info will be sent out soon.
- Amy Szarek will take over as Committee Chair on 01/28/18
- February will be a busy beginning with Scout Shabbat Friday February 2 at the Temple Emanu-El in Haverhill and Derby Car weight in at GCC, the Pinewood Derby on February 3 at GCC and Scout Sunday February 4, GCC will be recognizing the adults that keep Pack 113 and Troop 87 going but boys can also just wear their uniforms to their home churches.
- Agreed that the want to shoot for easter for the cake Fundraiser
- We want to be ready for sales at the Pinewood Derby so we can deliver the week before Easter
- We will coordinate pick up at the church
- Vicki is the primary contact / organizer for this event
- Next Meeting was moved to January 7th at 5pm
- We thank those who came to the meeting and look forward to getting to know new leadership coming into position in January.
October 29th 2017
- Our next event is The Rocket Launch with Flag ceremony lead by Kristi
- Our Holiday event will be at camp Denison, Santa (Denise Bryer) will handout cars. Jennifer and Fatima will be in charge of this event.

- It was agreed not to use mailchimp to communicate with the pack, rather the leadership will email Den leaders who will share the information.
- Rick is working on Battleship Cove for 1/20/18 when need to do sign up by 11/15
- Pastor Chris was encourage to get T-shirts done and ready for purchase

August 28th 2017
- Discussion about new website and how to use it. Www.Scouting.Grovelanducc.org Send all feedback and suggestions to Pastor Chris.
- Discussion about if we are ready for field day, tasks were individually assigned.
- It was agreed that this years fees will be,
- 33 BSA
- 12 Boys Life
- 35 Adventure Card
- 50 Pack 113
- Total is 130 which can be made in two payments as long as the total is received by the Holiday Party
- Next year 2 payments will be difficult because rechartering will be in September / October
- The BSA is getting ready to integrate girls into the scouting program, we should think about how this might work here.
- Feedback given on recruiting flyer and corrections to be made before printing
- Vicki will begin working on the cake fundraiser
- In January Amy Szarek will take over as committee chair.
